Sue Hamilton
Destination Specialist

I had always been captivated by the world beyond my home country of England.  Growing up I’d spend hours flipping through travel magazines, dreaming of far-off places. With a passion for adventure and a knack for organisation I entered the Travel Industry over 20 years ago.

For me, experiencing new countries and culture is enriching, it broadens perspective, appreciating diverse ways of life, traditions and values. I’ve travelled across all seven continents and so far experienced 70 countries.

My first visit to New Zealand was in 2000 when I fell in love with the landscapes, people, food, culture and of course the award-winning wines. In 2009 I returned on a 1-year holiday visa to eventually become a citizen in 2013. Living in New Zealand appeals to me for many reasons, the stunning natural landscapes from mountains to beaches, abundant outdoor activities, the culture is vibrant and welcoming and the strong sense of environmental awareness and a commitment to sustainability aligns with my personal values.

One of my favourite destinations is the Abel Tasman National Park, located on top of the South Island, it’s coastal scenery with golden beaches, turquoise waters and lush native forests is incredibly picturesque.  The park offers a variety of outdoor activities from hiking and kayaking to swimming and wildlife watching, allowing for adventure in a breathtaking setting.
