I was born and raised in Japan. From an early age, my family often took me abroad, which kindled my future interests and work. The different languages, cultures and food were all fascinating, and even though my English was not good at the time, I vividly remember trying to communicate using gestures and words.
In 2009, I moved to Sydney to study travel trade at TAFE. I first started as a coordinator for inbound travellers in Japan, and later I was based in Sydney working with the inbound Japanese market. Australia really is a fascinating place, and the beautiful nature and magnificent landscapes here are particularly striking.
In terms of hobbies other than travelling, I love reading and also cooking. In more recent years, being confined to my home during the pandemic, I took up baking – particularly sourdough bread.
