I was born in Auckland from Scottish parents, sometime during the late 1960s!! I had always wanted to work in the tourism industry and have been with Southern World since 1999, I have worked in Inbound Tourism since 1987, originally with Thomas Cook and as a result I probably have “veteran” status here in Southern World’s Auckland office. I really enjoy selling New Zealand as a destination, I especially love the challenge of putting together special interest itineraries for hikers and clients with an interest in nature. I enjoy playing football (soccer), hiking and especially getting close to and observing the natural world. My recent hikes have included the Hollyford Track, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Walks here in New Zealand and walking the highlands and islands of Scotland to observe spectacular White Tailed Eagles to name just a few. My favourite places in New Zealand are the Fiordland National Park for its dramatic scenery, Tiritiri Matangi Island for watching its rare birdlife, and Omaha Beach north of Auckland for relaxing holidays on the beach with friends and family.
