I am originally from Canada and grew up in the very small town of Cereal (population 110) on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border, in the middle of the Canadian Prairies, but usually refer to Calgary as home. Even though I’m from a small country town I have always had the ambition to explore and see new and exciting places. I started travelling after my University days in Calgary, and have never looked back. After the better part of 8 years, I finally made the move overseas and settled in Brighton, England where I worked as Travel Agent for 2 years. My time in England was spent traveling the UK and exploring what mainland Europe had to offer. It was during my time in England I met my partner Toby, and with the expiry of my Working Holiday Visa looming, we made the decision to move to Australia together. We landed in Sydney January of 2016, and can no longer imagine living anywhere else. The Canadian Winter’s just aren’t for me.
I first visited Australia in 2010 for only a month, after backpacking through South East Asia; I instantly knew this vast country of amazing weather and beaches was for me. After having visited 40+ countries around the world I am now content to finally call Australia home. I am happy to be back, settling in and allowing much more time to see and explore the rest of this exciting country; there’s so much out there. When I am not at work, I like to stay active either in the gym or outside, by visiting with friends and checking out the beaches when the weather’s nice, or travelling with my partner. We also love exploring markets, new pubs and café’s in Sydney, and usually find an excuse to have a beer and a burger outside in the sun.
